The Light. (Poem)

You showed up like a beaming light,
right across the tunnel.
I followed you in the darkness,
your guidance very subtle.

But slowly you slipped away,
leaving me bewildered.
You said your job is done,
and your purpose is delivered.

I couldn't thank you enough,
for better should I had known;
people who are light in our lives,
are sometimes just gone.

Thank them now and thank them right,
as the moment you are waiting for,
may never arise.

Let them know what they mean to you,
as when you think of revealing that,
they may not be with you.
